Smirk & Laughter Games is an imprint of Smirk & Dagger Games, headed by Curt Covert.
Smirk & Laughter has a simple philosophy. Games are more fun, more immersive, and more enjoyable when they connect with players emotionally. When a player's emotions are stirred, they become more invested, immersed in the game's world, and the experience around the table becomes more memorable.
For fourteen years, parent company Smirk & Dagger evoked those emotional highs and lows through backstabby "take that" mechanisms in which players were all encouraged to do terrible things to each other, gnash their teeth, then laugh about it together. Smirk & Laughter opens the door to a whole new range of emotions to explore, with different memorable experiences to share.
The two brands, taken together, now stand for "games that play from the heart vs. the head", with plenty of strategic decisions to make along the way, but all in service to the end goal: creating a real feeling at the table that you'll want to return to again and again.
