Hey, Minions – good news, I *finally* got the Vagabond convention editor up and running. You can now add conventions when you create your Demo Reports, although we strongly recommend you do so ahead of time (like, as soon as you get your badges) so we can list the shows in the Upcoming Convention Appearances on the site index.
To add a convention: www.indiegamealliance.com/demos/convention. We’ve extended the usual deadline for adding demo reports to account for the fact that people have been waiting for this to be done. Sorry it took so long. As always please let me know if you encounter any issues, and thanks for your patience.
Feels great to be coding on the IGA site again! By popular demand, you can now route demo report, survey, certification, and store purchase notifications each to separate email addresses. This should help out studios which have a couple employees with different responsibilities.
Set your preferences at https://www.indiegamealliance.com/account/studio/alerts.php!
Hey, everybody! Good news – IGA HQ is back up and running! We got power & telecom connectivity back on Monday night. As you might imagine, a week of misery has taken something of a toll on us, and our to-do list is obscenely long, but we’re working through it as quickly as we can. Thank you all for your patience — and please continue to give it for a few more days while we catch up. Thanks also to everyone for their well-wishes and concern. Now — back to gaming!
We’re closely monitoring the track of Hurricane Irma, which is presently forecast to impact the Orlando area on Sunday. As with all storms of this nature, we do not know what to expect in terms of power outages, etc. until the storm has passed. Therefore, we are preemptively closing all member and minion support effective Friday, September 8. We will reopen on Monday, September 10 if we are able to do so, and if not, we will do our best to get the word out about our status. We were already operating on limited availability due to our post-Gen Con vacation.
The data center that hosts indiegamealliance.com is also in the path of the storm, however, it is a world-class facility that’s built to withstand these types of events, so we shouldn’t experience website downtime. In the event it happens, however, look to our Facebook and Twitter accounts for updates.
As with all major hurricanes, we strongly encourage anyone in the path of this storm to check your emergency plan and supplies and be prepared. The National Hurricane Center has rated Irma as the strongest Atlantic storm it has ever recorded. Stay safe, and play lots of board games — even if you have to do so by candlelight.
Hey there! We’ve added a quick new feature that will help us out a lot in promoting our members’ Kickstarter campaigns: you can now link your Kickstarter profile to your IGA account. You can find the field to do this on your Studio Profile page at https://www.indiegamealliance.com/account/studio/profile.php.
Your Kickstarter profile link should look like https://www.kickstarter.com/profile/your_profile_name. To find it, log into Kickstarter, click your avatar in the upper right hand corner to open your account menu, and select Profile to visit your public profile.
Just cut and paste the link from your browser’s address bar into the field on your IGA Studio Profile, click Save, and you’re all set!
IGA will use this information to proactively start sharing and supporting your current and future Kickstarter campaigns without the need for you to let us know before launch. It’s one more thing off your plate during the busy pre-launch period, and it makes sure that IGA can get to work promoting your project on day one, every time.
Hey, trophy hunters – IGA’s Minion program now has Achievements! Earn up to 13 potential achievements for running demos, collecting surveys, and a few other things that will just have to be surprises. Check out the achievements you’ve already earned — and those you can still earn – – on your account dashboard. Don’t forget to share the ones you master on social media!
We’re thrilled to announce that after three years on the waiting list, IGA has just acquired a booth at Origins Game Fair this year! Miracles happen after all! The show’s in just seven weeks, so there’s a ton to do to prepare and not much time to book your demos and get us sales stock!
Because this is such a short notice booking, we’re going to shorten the IGA Pro exclusivity window to two weeks for this show, after which point it will become available to all members.
In celebration of this new opportunity, and to replenish our coffers from this surprise expense so we can get hotels and rent a truck for stock transport, IGA has not only reduced the pricing on demos for Origins, but put demos for Gen Con and Dice Tower Con on sale as well! Demo time has been reduced by $20 on off-peak days and $25 on peak days. They will certainly go fast at this pricing, though, so get yours now!
The Indie Game Alliance is proud to announce our partnership with Unrivaled, a nationwide series of tabletop tournaments with a $250,000 prize pool taking place in over 200 retail establishments. The six featured games for 2017 include two IGA member games: Nevermore from Smirk & Dagger Games and Villagers and Villains from Studio 9 Games.
Unrivaled is looking for more retailers to sign up to host tournaments, and there’s goodies in it for you if you do! Plus, if a tournament winner qualifies in your store, they will win $10,000, and so will you! Check out what ICv2 had to say about Unrivaled here.
Qualifier tournaments begin in April, so time is of the essence! Of course, if you just want to decimate your competition and win the tournament yourself, find the closest host store and prepare for tabletop dominance!
We love our Minions! We’ve negotiated a special coupon code for you with our friends at Board Game Bento. You can save 50% on a new monthly subscription and have even more games and swag delivered right to your door! Hurry, though – this coupon is only good through March 28! Get your promo code here!
We’ve received reports that the feedback survey editor had a few glitches that were affecting some users. We’ve done some debugging and are fairly confident we’ve corrected all the issues. Please let us know if you find any more! We’ve also added the option to delete a question, so long as it hasn’t yet been answered.
For those of you who don’t know what we’re talking about, IGA Pro members get access to a custom feedback survey editor that lets you create full-featured surveys, including multiple choice and free-text entry questions, using a simple drag-and-drop editor. The resultant surveys are mobile-friendly and easy, and we provide a QR code generator to help players get to the survey quickly and easily. The survey module is a critical component of IGA’s playtesting offering.
We encourage Minions to use these QR codes as well to help gather feedback for our members!
